Margot Patisserie opened in May 1994 and is located in the infamous Ansonia building known for its French Beaux Arts architectural style, on the upper west side of New York City. 

Margot Patisserie's interior has a western European feel, a blended of Paris and New York.  Soothing ambience for sure.  A perfect place to enjoy breakfast, lunch, meet up with friends for a nice afternoon catch-up or wine down from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Galette des rois or King cake is a traditional item commonly found in French bakeries celebrating Epiphany during the month of January.  While many versions exist, Margot makes the galette des rois with flaky puff pastry layers with almond paste.

Tradition holds that the cake is “to draw the kings” to the Epiphany. A figurine, la fève, which can represent anything from a car to a cartoon character, is hidden in the cake and the person who finds the trinket in his or her slice becomes king for the day and will have to offer the next cake.

This year, we made a gingerbread cookie village (2 large triangular houses and 4 small houses). Since then, we have received a lot of inquires on pricing and ordering.  We made them for fund raising purposes for St. Jude Children's Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering.  We hope to raise $500 and $125 for the large house and small one, respectively and we will do a dollar for dollar match.  That's a total of $3,000.  If you wish to join us on this effort by purchasing these items, please call us a day in advance for packing and make a check payable to either one of the aforementioned organizations when you pick up the gingerbread house(s).  We will mail your check along with our match to these organizations. Thank you. Enjoy the Season's of Giving!

Updates:  On December 23, 2015, all gingerbread houses were delivered and  donated to Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital as a Holiday cheers to their patients.

Full time and Part time Barista/Counterperson

  • 4 to 5 days a week for opening shifts 6:30am to 1 pm and/or closing shifts from 1-7:30pm weekday (shift hours may change)
  • Must be able to work at least 1 day on weekend either from 9 am to 7:30pm or 7:30am to 4pm.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Reliable, friendly, team player, good customer service and communication skill, able to follow direction from management are a must.
  • Prior barista and/or counter service experience are a plus.
  • Responsibilities include
    • making Espresso based drinks such as Cappuccino, Latte, etc;
    • providing point of service to Our customers;
    • displaying, refilling our products (bringing them from the kitchen) in a nice and presentable way;
    • requesting 2nd bake orders when the sales items including baked goods, sandwiches, soup, etc are running low;
    • keeping the work station, counter, dinning area clean;
    • brewing hot coffee and preparing iced coffee as needed;
    • taking cake/catering orders;
    • communicating orders to kitchen;
    • promoting and upselling.  
  • Salary is commensurate with relevant experience.
